MODULUX Standard Ceiling
Panels
Easy to install – Modulux Standard Panels weigh
less than one third the weight of drywall panels, making manipulation
and installation much easier.
Clean – Repairs are easy to make without causing
a mess. Users can replace full sheets without filling the room with
messy residue.
Economical – Convenient staple attachment
method and fast concealment of joints with styrene moldings enables
manufacturers to increase throughput. No waiting time needed, no separate
operations.
Quality – A distinctive pattern provides high
light reflectance. Time-tested coating ensures minimum maintenance
and provides resistance to discoloration and fading.
Surface Burning Characteristics – Class II tested
and labeled with a flame spread rating of 70 in accordance with CAN/ULC-S102
test procedure

MODULUX provides manufacturers with a beautiful surface pattern and a tough abrasion-resistant
surface.
MODULUX incorporates color coordinated molding sets to conceal staples and
give the ceiling an attractive, uniform look.
MODULUX panels are formed from wood fibers and special moisture-resistant
agents into a rich, deep-embossed pattern. A durable abrasion-resistant coating
system helps the embossed surface resist denting and damage during assembly.
MODULUX Surface Burning Characteristics – Class II tested and labled
with a flame spread rating of 70 in accordance with CAN/ULC-S102 test procedure.
Directions for Use
Notes to Manufacturer
- Insulation should be batt-type installed between trusses, or blanket-type
installed atop trusses.
- Where applicable, a polyethylene vapor retarder should be installed across
truss faces before installation of ceiling board.
- MODULUX Standard Panels are not recommended where exposure to moisture
is extreme.
Storage and handling of materials
- Store MODULUX panels in a cool, dry place. Keep covered to prevent soiling.
- Unwrap ceiling panel units at least 72 hours before application so that
panels will stabilize to prevailing temperature and humidity.
- Handle and apply MODULUX panels by grasping ends, not edges of panels.
Bill of materials
- MODULUX Standard Panels Textura pattern, ½" x 4' nominal x
(specify length)
- Staples GSW16: 1" crown x 1½" leg. galvanized and coated
- Okaply standard vinyl-covered moulding (or your own standard painted or
vinyl-covered moulding)
Assembly Instructions
Apply MODULUX Standard Panels with long edges parallel to roof trusses. Fasten
panels in accordance with following specifications designed for achieving suitable
Shear Resistance Values.
Place abutting panels down so that the edge of the panels are centered over
the stud(s) to which they will be stapled. Staple approximately 3/8" away
from and parallel to the edge at 6" intervals on both long edges. Fasten
the panel by applying rosettes at 9" intervals on the center stud(s) or
by gluing the panel to the center stud(s) as the case may be. Please consult
a qualified adhesive supplier to evaluate the type of adhesive best suited
to your particular needs. Leave a small gap between panels to allow for expansion
of panels at higher humidity levels. Place the Okaply standard vinyl-covered
mouldings (or any other suitable moulding) over the panel edges to cover the
joint as well as the staples.
